Good review, David. I like the analogies you used to give us an idea how bad the movie is.
To just have a series of battles without a purpose does sound boring. Speaking of Star Wars video games, I can tell that I played Jedi Knight II and that game had a way better plot than the plot of Clone Wars you described, because Jedi Knight II at least had a protagonist, an antagonist, and a reason for one to chase the other.
Thanks Anthony. Did you notice how I threw in the Salisbury steak in the opening and conclusion? That's one of the things that I like to do with a lot of my reviews, is to tie the conclusion and the introduction together. I usually prefer it be more explicit than that, though.
I used to play Star Wars games when I was younger. I was really into Dark Forces and somewhat into Dark Forces II Jedi Knight. Is that the one you're talking about? And also Shadows of the Empire for Nintendo 64 and the Super Star Wars games for Super Nintendo. (I remember how much I hated the Super Emperor Strikes Back since it was ridiculously hard.) I remember Dark Forces was considered so groundbreaking since it applied the Doom formula to the Star Wars universe.
Tying the beginning and end is rather neat. It sounds like something you can call a trademark of yours.
Yeah, I am referring to Dark Forces II - Jedi Knight. Again, it has a plot because you have Kyle Katarn versus Jerec who wants to excavate the Valley of the Jedi and take its power. That's what a Star Wars story, movie or otherwise, should be like.
