It sounds like we both arrived at similar conclusions regarding the quality of "Hellboy 2." Where we part ways, though, is something I don't really talk about in my review. (Though I think I will in a future blog post.)

I don't really like Hellboy as a character. He alone doesn't interest me very much. I think he's kind of immature and adolescent, which his creator proudly admits he is. I think he works and his movies work because of the people around him. If it weren't for Abe Sapien, Liz Sherman, Prof. Bruttenholm, the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, and the spirit guy in the diving suit then I don't think I would like the movies or the concept as much. The character and personality of Hellboy isn't enough for it all to stand. Thoughts?
