Looking at Film Ideologically
I have two new articles for David Horowitz's Front Page magazine. I review Alan Ball's "Towelhead" here and look at the film's ideological content. I also did an overview of the political themes in Clint Eastwood's films here and discuss this mode of film criticism on my blog here.

Anthony Reviews "Milk" and "Gran Torino"
I have seen and reviewed the Sean Penn movie Milk and the Clint Eastwood movie Gran Torino. Both are good, though I like the latter a little more.

AFI's Movies of the Year for 2008
One of the annual film awards I like to check out is the American Film Institute's selection of the 10 best movies of the year. I guess I like it because it's an alternative to the Oscars and Golden Globes.
Anyway, these are their selections (in alphabetical order):
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
The Dark Knight
Frost/Nixon
Frozen River
Gran Torino
Iron Man
Milk
WALL-E
Wendy and Lucy
Your thoughts on this list? Disagree with the inclusions? Any titles that should have been in this list? :-)
